March 7, 1988
City Hall:
Those present: Quenroe, Nerburn, Christensen, Vreeland, Alford, Country-
man, Cohen, LaCrosse.
Minutes of the February 22 meeting were approved.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Present balance of $15,820.13 reported by Alford.
BUTTON SALES/MEMORABILIA: Committee recommends we purchase white caps
because they sold well last year. It will be discussed at next meeting.
Dorff is asked to clarify button prize money at next meeting.
AMBASSADORS: Cohen will put together a proposal to submit at next meeting.
He needs a budget and a co-chair. Discussed possibility of changing
name of ambassadors because it's confusing with chamber ambassadors.
Cohen suggested a breakfast for auto dealers to explain what Earle Brown
Days are and what money goes for.
ANTIQUE SHOW: Quenroe will call Westbrook Mall representative about
sponsoring one.
PARADE: Four bands are confirmed.
CAR SHOW: Nerburn has secured lot near Dayton's Home Store for car show
and auction. A motion passed that if a sponsor is found, the car show will
be held.
PUBLICITY: Christensen reported the Earle Brown on horseback picture
would be too difficult to place on a button. The detail would be too small.
He suggested taking off the All America City and the word activities from
button and making button and stationery consistent. He will bring a
design proposal to next meeting.
Charlie Cook's resignation from the committee was accepted at this point
because the committee will be given $1,666 to promote Earle Brown Days
outside the local area. Or, the committee can have him do it. Cook will
be invited to next meeting to explain his promotion plan.
NEW BUSINESS: Alford suggested if committee chairs are unable to make the
meeting, they call Quenroe or LaCrosse in advance with an update of their
activity. It was unanimously agreed by committee.
Quenroe would like to have job descriptions of committee chairs and
committee members by next meeting.
