ACTIVITY OF MINORS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS AND OF THE AGE OF 16

Public Notice
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on the JA,th day of ,Iunp,1993, at
y;l@ p.m. at the City Hall, 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway, to consider an ordinance amending
Chapter 19 of the City ordinances regarding unlawful activity of minors under the age of 16
years and unlawful activity of minors under the age of 18 years and of the age of 16 years and
over.
Auxiliary aids for persons with disabilities are available upon request at least 96 hours in
advance. Please contact the Personnel Coordinator at 569 -3300 to make arrangements,
Section 1. Otter 19 of the City Ordinances of the City of Brooklyn Center is hereby
amended to rea &8 follows: Section 19 -301: UNLAWFUL ACTIVITY OF MINORS UNDER THE AGE OF [14] 1.5
YEARS. It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of [14] la years to be on or present
upon any public street, avenue, park, playground, or place open to the public, or place of
amusement and entertainment, vacant lot, or other unsupervised place in the City of
Brooklyn Center ktween the hours of [9:30] lit p.m. [of any day] Sundgy through Thursday
and 11 p m 1 i.: Ovid Saturday and 5 a.m. of the following day; provided, however, that the
provisions of this section shall not apply to any such minor person who is accompanied by his
or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the authorized care and custody of such
minor person, or when such minor person is upon an emergency errand or legitimate busi-
ness directed by his or her parent, guardian or adult person having authorized care and cus-
tody of such minor person.
The fact,that quell minor person, unaccompanied by parent or other adult person having
authorized carethatIcustody of such minor person is found upon or in any such place within
the City after said [9:30] 1Q p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 11 m Friday and Saturday
and before said 5 a.m. shall be prima facie evidence that said minor person is there unlawful-
ly.
Sectio ordinance shall be effective after adoption and thirty days following its
legal pubif ions"
