APPROVAL Or MINUTES: Balance of 11,795.83 as of 5/31/88 Motion made by Alford, seconded by Dorff to take $500 from contingency fund for additional expenses for the parade, primarily for food. Motion passed. BUTTON SALES/MEMORABILIA: 100 free buttons with coupons will be given to Junior Royalty contestants. Dorff's been selling at carnival. AMBASSADORS: will not end this week. Cohen met with auto dealers. A coupon was suggested on service or car purchase. Coupon would be brought in to dealers to show evidence of it's effectiveness. $2,691. brought in so far by Ambassadors. TABLOID: Quenroe met with some people at post and got positive vibes. CARNIVAL: Complaints about high weeds. Nerburn suggested the possibility of leveling land if it's to be used again. Bergeland suggested signs or banners to be used to promote better, preferably visible from freeway. PARADE: 100 + units, 19 bands, 900 of which are high school. SENIOR CORONATION: no applications. Schram said publicity could be better and will write suggestions for next year. JUNIOR ROYALTY: Brooklyn Center Jaycees will host reception. PUBLICITY: Quenroe asked LaCrosse to check with Betsy about doing a feature article on parade. LaCrosse will check into cost of 4 page flyer type insert for shopper's guide. Nerburn will check into cost and length of time needed for an Earle 40 Brown Days Banner. LaCrosse will keep calling Mike Cronin at Naegle for possibility of a portable billboard, if not for 88, than for '89. NEW BUSINESS: 0 Days Inn will handle Senior Coronation, Bergeland will chair the signs and advertising committee, and LaCrosse will coordinate publicity in'89. Roen showed raffle tickets for Crystal Frolics. They sell for $1.00 or 6 for $5, with opportunities to win prizes. LaCrosse asked for suggestions for a volunteer recognition event for Brooklyn Center. Suggestions were•don't have a meal or dance, don't necessarily hold in April, recognition month. Get a small committee together. Have it at the farm. NEXT MEETING: Scheduled for Monday, June 6 at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall. Adjourn.
