APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes from June 13 were approved. FINANCIAL REPORT: Nelson reported a balance of $9,861.81 as of 6/20/88. The committee assumed the city would pick up the cost of police for carnival which amounted to $3,030. Nelson will check on this. Bills are not in for parade signs, satellites, food and cleanup. The treasurer's report was approved. PUBLICITY: Quenroe introduced Tom Breviu from Ad Vision. He will produce a 30 second promotional ad to appear on cable television in 1989. He said cost runs about $350 for 8 - 10 hours of production time. If it _nvolves additional hours, more cost. The commerical can be re-edited each year at a cost savings. _ohen made a motion to go ahead, seconded by Nelson. Motion passed. -uenroe, Cohen and Nyquist will meet with Breviu after meeting to give ^i_m direction. AMBASSADORS: Cohen sent letter to Lions Club requesting an additional S1J000. He passed' out auto ad and said he's been collecting money from --hem. A second letter went out to approximately 170 businesses. Auction items can be used as additional prizes for the button drawing. Auto coupons will be passed out during parade. TABLOID: Looks great. Vreeland checked into other community tabloids and only Brooklyn Park does their_ own. Even they don't make much. 7ARNIVAL: Slupske & Quenroe looked at Crystal's. They also had a poor =urnout. _ARADE: Clarification of the budget was made. The board previously ::.~~roved an additional $1000. J.upske questioned the idea of the 5th largest parade. He thinks it's .:;d or 3rd. If we're going to bill it differently next year., we should _ iee-k on that. Page 2 PUBLICITY cont.: Quenroe reported the opportunity to promote Earle Brown Days on KANO radio. For $100, we could get 15 slots. Motion made by Bergeland, seconded by Vreeland to go ahead. Motion passed. r CAR SHOW: Nerburn thinks we can make money next year by charging ad- mission. We need a permanent site, and date. SENIOR CORONATION: The candidates declined. There will be no reception this year. JUNIOR CORONATION: Nyquist will give a small speech about Earle Brown Days. ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Cohen would like committee and board members to come. Wear your cowboy hat and button! NEW BUSINESS: Wrap up meeting rescheduled to Monday, August 8, 7:30 a.m. at City Hall.
