FINANCIAL REPORT: Cash on hand $5,190.47 as of 3/8/89. The car show
is deleted from budget. Quenroe made a motion to approve the 1989
budget. Seconded by Jacobsen. Motion passed.
CELEBRATE MINNESOTA 1990: Bergeland recommended registering with
the state to be a 1990 community. Bergeland will meet with LaCrosse
and Julie Doth of the North Metro Convention Bureau to determine
activity ideas and a budget.
PARADE: Could end up with more bands than last year.
BUTTONS/MEMORABILIA - Dorff recommends staying with a similar theme.
We can give 500 away. Nelson budgeted enough to order 1500.
T.V. COMMERCIAL: Tom Breviu from Ad Vision showed the commercial.
It needs carnival footage. Alford will get a tape from Slupske. A
couple of changes were suggested. Over all, it looked very nice.
AUCTION: Auctioneer would keep 12%. They would take care of storing,
transporting items to storage, and will have their jeep in the
parade to promote the auction. Earle Brown Days would pay $500 for
their helpers and advertisement in tabloid. Bergeland will draw up
a contract and bring it to the next meeting.
NEW EVENTS: The Street Dance will run from 7pm to midnight.
Jacobsen reported on turtle races. She will check into it.
JUNIOR ROYALTY: Park & Recreation Department can copy info and appli-
cations. First judging will be held at Brooklyn Center High School
on June 14. Still looking for a location for second judging.
HIDE-A-KEY: It's on. They will develop some rules. Mary Jane
Gustafson said the Historical Society has decided that if a person
has found the key previously, they are ineligible this year.
NEXT MEETING: Monday, April 24, 7:30 a.m. - City Hall Council
Chambers.
Adjourn.
Respectfully Submitted,
Sue LaCrosse
