HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989 06-05 EBDMi w Earle Brown Days Brooklyn Center Minnesota 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway 55430 (612) 561-5440 • Earle Brown Days Meeting Meeting Minutes June 5, 1989 City Hall Those present: Graham, Chisenhall, Slupske, Roen, Countryman, Quenroe, Dorff, Nyquist, Graffunder, LaCrosse and Patty Rudquist and Jeff*Lee from Marquette Bank Brookdale. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes from May 22 were approved. FINANCIAL REPORT: Balance of $7,731.43 as of 5/31/89. Total donations of $3,600 to date. Quenroe said we are falling a little short. Dorff reported for Cohen. Cohen will have a ten day campaign to get more contributors. He wants LaCrosse to get a list of City contractors to send donation notices to. PUBLICITY: The banners are here. They look very nice. Posters will be available next Monday at the meeting. Cable spots will be running soon. CARNIVAL: Slupske and LaCrosse reported a problem with Starbrite amusements. LaCrosse received a call from a company outside Detroit stating Skip owed him alot of money. The man said he was taking legal action to stop Skip from operating. LaCrosse called Robbinsdale Park & Rec. and then Skip. It sounds like the company might not be legitimate. Skip assured LaCrosse the City would have the insurance policy by Tuesday. Graffunder will contact Skip's attorney. LaCrosse will try to get a copy of Robbinsdale's contract, since it would be the same as ours. PARADE: There are 18 quality bands so far. Slupske thinks we have the second largest parade in the state, when it comes to bands. We need publicity. Graham will promote on Good company on June 12. Promoting at the tourism bureau was suggested. BUTTONS/MEMORABILIA: Dorff passed out ten buttons to each committee member. Quenroe introduced Patty Rudquist and Jeff Lee from Marquette Bank Brookdale. AUCTION: Bergeland received the contract back. 0 JUNIOR ROYALTY: First judging is June 14. Second judging will be sponsored by Ground Round. Trophies By Linda did the trophies. Master of ceremony for June 25 is Mayor Nyquist. NEW BUSINESS: Everyone's invited to the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Burt Countryman on Sun., July 9 from 1-5 at the Crystal Elks Club.
