HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-114 CCR Member Tim Roche introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2009-114 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A DELGATED CONTRACTING PROCESS AGREEMENT FOR THE BASS LAKE ROAD STREETSCAPE AND REGIONAL TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO. 2009-18 BETWEEN THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center ("City") and the Minnesota Department of Transportation ("Mn/DOT") have been working cooperatively to advance the project to provide streetscape trail, water quality and general roadway improvements to the Bass Lake Road (County Road 10) corridor from Brooklyn Boulevard to Highway 100; and WHEREAS, the Project is multi jurisdictional, involving the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Hennepin County, Three Rivers Park District and the City; and WHEREAS, federal economic stimulus funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 has been awarded to the City in the amount of $2,000,000 to construct said improvements; and WHEREAS, the City intends to pay for the Project with federal ARRA funding, County funding, Three Rivers Park District funding and City funding to be determined; and WHEREAS, the City will prepare construction contracts in accordance with Minnesota law and applicable federal laws and regulations so the City may have a project bid letting in November/December of 2009 with construction to commence spring 2010. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1. Pursuant to Minnesota Stat. Sec. 161.36, the Commissioner of Transportation be appointed as Agent of the City of Brooklyn Center to accept as its agent, federal funds which may be made available for eligible transportation related projects. 2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to execute and enter into an agreement with the Commissioner of Transportation prescribing the terms and conditions of said federal aid participation as set forth and contained in "Minnesota Department of Transportation Agency Agreement No. 84188", a copy of which said agreement was before the City Council and which is made a part hereof by reference.
