RESOLUTION NO. 2007-123
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPOSED USE OF COMMUNITY
ORIENTED POLICING GRANT

WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has received an Community Oriented
Policing Grant in the sum of $108,500 for 2007/2008 and $119,000 for 2008/2009; and
WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the City would hire two officers to replace
existing veteran officers to work as community oriented police specialist; and
grant funds.
WHEREAS, the City wished to maximize the effectiveness of the use of theses
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized as part of the previously
authorized staffing authorization for police officers, to implement the proposed Community
Oriented Policing grant 24-month budget which is attached hereto and incorporated be reference
as Attachment 1.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Dan Ryan
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Tim Willson, Kay Lasman, Mary O'Connor, Dan Ryan, and Mark Yelich;
and the following voted against the same: none;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
