HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-095 CCRMember Kathleen Carmody introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2006-95 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE 1500 GPM FIRE APPARATUS PUMPER AND ACCEPTING A CONTRIBUTION FROM THE BROOKLYN CENTER FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the following bid was received for the purchase of one (1) 1500 GPM Fire Apparatus Pumper: Pierce Manufacturing $371,154 Trade-in 15.000 NET PURCHASE PRICE $356.154 WHEREAS, approximately $291,000 will have accumulated in the Central Garage Budget for the purchase of one (1) 1500 GPM Fire Apparatus Pumper by the time of delivery in May or June of 2007; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Fire Relief Association has agreed to contribute $65,000 toward the purchase of this vehicle, representing the additional amount needed to cover the estimated cost of $356,154 to replace Pump Engine No. 6; and WHEREAS, Pierce Manufacturing has met all bid specifications, and it is recommended that Pierce Manufacturing be awarded the bid for the fire apparatus. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. that the bid of Pierce Manufacturing is hereby accepted and the purchase of one (1) 1500 GPM Fire Apparatus in the net amount of $356,154 is hereby approved. 2. that the $65,000 is accepted from the Brooklyn Center Fire Relief Association. August 14. 2006 Date MayoP -~q~ ATTEST:.rIQfI, City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kay Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Kay Lasman, and Diane Niesen; and the following voted against the same: Mary OConnor; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
