HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988 09 HCM MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HOUSING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA REGULAR SESSION SEPTEMBER 1988 CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Housing Commission met in regular session and was called to order by Chairman Ken Felger at 7:34 p.m. ROLL CALL Chairman Felger, Commissioners Barb Jensen, Ron Turner, Ray Johnson, Phil Cohen, and Todd Paulson. Commissioner Delores Hastings was excused also present were Councilmember Rich Theis and EDA Coordinator Brad Hoffman. HOUSING STUDY There was a discussion with commission members relative to the proposed housing study. It was the consensus of the commission that the study should look at the market impact demographic changes and housing trends will have on Brooklyn Center's housing stock. The commission wanted the study to consider national trends home values, potential funding sources for programs, and make recommendations relative to identified problems, assess the tax base impact and implications of state tax policies. Chairman Ken Felger requested that when the study was completed that there be a joint meeting between the housing commission and city council to discuss the results of the study. OTHER BUSINESS Chairman Ken Felger indicated to the commission that he would be resigning effective the end of the month. He indicated that he has moved out of Brooklyn Center and would therefore no longer be able to serve on housing commission. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Cohen seconded by Commissioner Jensen to adjourn the Brooklyn Center Housing Commission. The motion passed unanimously, and the Brooklyn Center Housing Commission adjourned at 8:35 p.m. Chairman
