HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990 11-26 HCM T MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HOUSING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA REGULAR SESSION NOVEMBER 26, 1990 CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Housing Commission was called to order at 7:10 p.m. ROLL CALL Chairman Eoloff, Commissioners Pamela Frantum, Ernie Erickson, John Kalligher and Jon Perkins. Commissioners Barbara Jensen and Robert Torres were absent and excused from this evening's meeting. Also present were City Council Liaison Phil Cohen, Councilmember- Elect Dave Rosene, Assistant EDA Coordinator Tom Bublit2 and Southeast Neighborhood Advisory Group members Jody Brandvold, Dolores Hastings, Wallace Bernards, Louis Sullivan, June Scofield and Ben Davidson. APPROVAL, OF MINUTES September 2,!. 1990 There was a motion by Commissioner Erickson and seconded by Commissioner Frantum to approve the September 25, 1990, Housing Commission minutes as submitted. The motion passed. LETTER OF RESIGNATION FROM HOUSING COWLISSION]IR R EYNOL D JOHNSON Chairman Eoloff noted the letter of resignation from the Housing Commission submitted by Reynold Johnson and stated Commissioner Johnson's membership and contribution to the Housing Commission would be missed by himself and the entire Commission. There was a motion by Commissioner Erickson and seconded by Commissioner Frantum to accept with regret Commissioner Reynold Johnson's letter of resignation from the Housing Commission. The motion passed. OTHER BUSINESS Chairman Eoloff explained that because of another obligation Commissioner Kalligher had a conflict with the regular Housing Commission meeting date of the second Tuesday of each month. The Assistant EDA Coordinator explained the By -Laws provide that the Commission shall establish regular meetings, and the By -Laws do.not prevent the commissioners from changing the meeting date. He added this could be done on a temporary basis until Commissioner Kalligher's other obligation on the second Tuesday of each month is completed. The commissioners discussed an alternative meeting date and decided the first Tuesday of each month would be workable. There 11 -26 -90 1 was a consensus that the meeting dates should be changed to the first Tuesday beginning in February. ADJO ENT There was a motion by Commissioner Erickson and seconded by Commissioner Kalligher to adjourn the regular Housing Commission meeting and convene the joint meeting with the Southeast Neighborhood Advisory committee.
