HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998 11-17 HCM 1 MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HOUSING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND STATE OF MINNESOTA REGULAR SESSION NOVEMBER 17, 1998 CONFERENCE ROOM B BROOKLYN CENTER CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Housing Commission was called to order by Chairperson Robert Torres at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Chairperson Robert Torres, Commissioners Lloyd Deuel, Ernie Erickson, Michael VonDeLinde, Mark Yelich, and Donald Arm. Also present were Council Liaison Bob Peppe, and Community Development Specialist Tom Bublitz. Commissioner James Lano was absent and excused from the meeting and Commissioner Christopher Russell was absent from the meeting. APPROVAL OF AGENDA There was a motion by Commissioner Deuel and seconded by Commissioner Arm to approve the agenda as submitted. The motion passed. APPROVAL OF MINUTES October 20, 1998 There was a motion by Commissioner Yelich and seconded by Commissioner Arm to approve the minutes of the October 20, 1998 Housing Commission meeting as submitted. The motion passed. TIME OF SALE ORDINANCE The Community Development Specialist distributed the revised Time of Sale Ordinance which contained the Housing Commission's revisions approved at the October 20, 1998 meeting. The Community Development Specialist briefly reviewed the revised ordinance and noted that he had added some additional language in Section 12 -1508 paragraph 5b which consisted of adding the phrase "after buyer takes possession He explained this was the only language he had added to clarify the ordinance after the Commission's revisions on October 20, 1998. There was a motion by Commissioner Erickson and seconded by Commissioner Deuel to approve the added language in Section 12 -1508 paragraph 5b by adding the phrase "after buyer takes possession The motion passed. 11 -17 -98 -1- UPDATE ON BELL VUE LANE PROJECT The Community Development Specialist updated the Commission on the status of the Bellvue Lane project and noted that the two model homes located at 621 and 701 Bellvue Lane were nearing completion. He showed overheads of the renderings of the two model homes, the rambler at 621 Bellvue Lane and the two -story at 701 Bellvue Lane. The Commission agreed to meet at the model home for their next meeting on December 15th if the models are complete enough to use as a meeting location. The Community Development Specialist stated he would monitor the status of construction with regard to holding the December meeting at the models. OTHER BUSINESS Commission members had no other business to discuss under this item. ADJOURNMENT There was a motion by Commissioner Erickson and seconded by Commissioner Deuel to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed. The Brooklyn Center Housing Commission adjourned at 8:05 p.m. Chairperson 11 -17 -98 -2-
