Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on the )q}b of
Jane 1990, at 7:30 p.m. at the City Hall, 6301 Shingle
Creek Parkway, to consider an amendment to the Personnel Ordinance to add
Columbus Day as a defined holiday.
Auxiliary aids for handicapped persons are available upon request at least 96
hours in advance. Please contact the personnel coordinator at 561 -5440 to make
arrangements.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17 OF THE CITY ORDINANCES REGARDING
PERSONNEL
The City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 17 of the City Ordinances is hereby amended as
follows:
Section 17 -117. HOLIDAY LEAVE.
1. Holidays Defined. Holiday leave shall be granted for the following
holidays:
New Year's Day January 1
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Third Monday in January
Washington's Lincoln's
Birthdays Third Monday in February
Memorial Day Last Monday in May
Independence Day July 4
Labor Day First Monday in September
Christopher Columbus Dav Second Mondav in October
Veteran's Day November 11
Thanksgiving Day Fourth Thursday in November
Post Thanksgiving Day Friday after Fourth Thursday
in November
Christmas December 25
ORDINANCE NO. 90-04
Floating Holiday Scheduled with permission of
employees' supervisor.
Floating holidays must be
taken within the calendar year;
they cannot be accumulated.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective after adoption and upon
thirty (30) days following its legal publication.
