ORDINANCE NO. 91 -1 0 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 19 OF THE CITY ORDINANCES REGARDING PUBLIC NUISANCES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 19 of the City Ordinances of the City of Brooklyn Center is hereby amended in the following manner: Section 19 -217. CONDUCT IN OR NEAR SCHOOL BUILDINGS OR GROUNDS. Subdivision 1. DEFINITIONS. As used in this section. the followina terms shall mean: a. "Public school" shall be anv school buildina, school arounds. plav area.. parkina lot or athletic field owned or leased by a public school district. b. "School official" shall be the principal, assistant or associate principal, school securitv Berson, anv schoolteacher. or the principal's designee. Subdivision 2. PROHIBITION. No Berson shall trespass in or upon anv public school by remainina upon said school premises after beina ordered to leave the public school by a school official. Subdivision 3. PERMISSION REOUIRED FOR RE- ENTRY. No person. havina been ordered by a school official to leave a public school and havina left said premises. shall re- enter said public school without the written permission of the school principal or the school official who aave the order to leave the public school. Subdivision 4. DEFACEMENT OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS. No person shall mark with ink. paint. chalk or other substance. or post hand bills on. or in anv other manner deface or insure fences. trees. lawns or fixtures appurtenant to or located on the public school. No sians ORDINANCE NO. 1 91 -10 shall be placed or hosted anywhere on a public school without the express permission of a school official. Section 19- 1805.• PENALTY. Any person found guilty by a lawful authority of violating any provision of this chapter of the ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not more than $700 and by imprisonment for not longer than 90 days or both, together with the costs of prosecution. Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective after adoption and upon thirty (30) days following its legal publication.
