HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-14 08-12 CCO CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on the 12th day of A ugust 1991, at 7:15 p.m. at the City Hall, 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway to consider an ordinance fixing certain compensation to be paid to the elected officials of the City of Brooklyn Center. Auxiliary aids for handicapped persons are available upon request at least 96 hours in advance. Please contact the Personnel Coordinator at 569 -3300 to make arrangements. ORDINANCE NO. 91 -14 AN ORDINANCE FIXING CERTAIN COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The salary schedule as set forth in City of Brooklyn Center ordinance number 89 -05 is established on the basis that the offices of mayor and council member in the City of Brooklyn Center are part -time positions. The mayor and /or council members are sometimes required to attend municipal functions or to take time from their regular employment to perform services beneficial to the City. Effective January 1, 1993, additional compensation shall be paid to the mayor or council members in those areas subject to the following conditions: 1. The activity and number of days for which the mayor or council member is to be engaged shall be approved by the city council prior to his or her participation. 2. The mayor and council member shall be paid $50 per day as supplemental compensation for each day approved and for which the member is in attendance at the approved activity. 3. The maximum number of days for which supplemental compensation will be paid in each calendar year is a follows: Mayor 24 days per year Council members 14 days per year Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective after adoption and thirty days following its legal publication. Adopted this 12th day of A u?ust 1991.
