HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-138 CCRMember Kathleen Carmody introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2005-138 RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CLEANING AND PAINT REPAIR SERVICES FOR ELEVATED STORAGE TANK NO. 3, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2005-15, CONTRACT 2005-H WHEREAS, the 2005 Budget for the Water Utility includes funding for cleaning the exterior of Elevated Storage Tank No. 3; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that minor repairs to the exterior paint surface of the tank is necessary and cost effective to complete under the contract for cleaning the exterior of Elevated Storage Tank No. 3; and WHEREAS, pursuant to soliciting quotations from qualified contractors to perform said work on Elevated Storage Tank No. 3, quotations were received, opened, and tabulated on the 29`" day of August, 2005. The results of said quotations are tabulated as follows: Total Ouotation Amount Odlund Protective Coatings $ 18,300.00 Tight Rope $ 31,500.00 LeadCon, Inc. $ 41,315.00 Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. $ 58,200.00 TMI Coatings, Inc. $ 67,500.00 WHEREAS, it appears that Odland Protective Coatings, Inc. of Rockford, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder for the work as described above. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Odlund Protective Coatings, Inc. of Rockford, Minnesota in the name of the City of Brooklyn Center, for cleaning and exterior paint repairs to Elevated Storage Tank No. 3 according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer. 2. The estimated project costs and revenues are as follows: COSTS Per Low Bid Contract $ 18,300.00 Engineering & Inspection $ 5.500.00 Total Estimated Project Cost $ 23,800.00 RESOLUTION NO. 2005-138 1 REVENUES Water Utility Fund 49141-6402 $ 18,300.00 Water Utility Fund 49141-6302 Total Estimated Revenue September 12, 2005 rate ATTEST: 1 a'J "u ~'l City Clerk $ 5,500.00 $ 23,800.00 Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kay la.sman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Kay lasman, Diane Niesen, and Mary O'Connor; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
