CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on the
22nd day of September, 1986 at 7 :30 p.m. at City Hall, 6301
Shingle Creek Parkway, to consider an amendment to Chapter 19
regarding the control of noxious weeds.
Auxiliary aids for handicapped persons are available upon request
at least 96 hours in advance. Please contact the Personnel
Coordinator at 561 -5440 to make arrangements.
ORDINANCE NO 86 -12
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 19 REGARDING THE CONTROL
OF NOXIOUS WEEDS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 19 -1603 of the City Ordinances is hereby
amended in the following manner:
Section 19- 1603., NOXIOUS WEEDS DEFINED.
a. For purposes of this ordinance and in addition to
provisions. of Minnesota Statutes Section 18.171, Subdivision 5,
"noxious weeds" means the following plants:

Field Bindweed Convolvulus arvensis
Hemp Cannabis sativa
Poison Ivy Rhus radicans
Spurge, leafy Euphorbia esula
Thistle, sow Sonchus arvensis
Thistle, bull Cirsium vulgare
Thistle, Canada Cirsium arvense
Thistle, musk Carduus nutans
Thistle, plumeless Carduus acanthoides
Alyssum, hoary Berteroa incana
Milkweed Asclepias syriaca
Quackgrass Agropyron repens
Ragweed, common Ambrosia artemisiifolia
Ragweed, giant Ambrosia trifida
b. Anv weeds or arass arowina to a height areater than
eight (8) inches or which have gone or about to go to seed.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective after
adoption and upon thirty (30) days following its legal
publication.
