HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-033 CCRMember Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2005-33 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ENGINEER'S FEASIBILITY REPORT AND CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2004-14, SHINGLE CREEK PARKWAY AND SUMMIT DRIVE STREET, STORM DRAINAGE, AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council, by Resolution No. 2004-52 and 2004-147, directed the preparation of an engineer's feasibility report regarding proposed improvements to the streets, storm drainage system and public utilities in the Shingle Creek Parkway and Summit Drive area; and WHEREAS, the City's Capital Improvement Program and Budget include additional street, trail and parking lot improvements on 690' Avenue, Palmer Lake Trail, and Earle Brown Heritage Center; and WHEREAS, the City anticipates that a cost savings could be obtained by combining said projects into one construction contract for the purposes of bidding and project administration; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has prepared a feasibility report for said improvements, and recommends that the proposed improvements be considered; and WHEREAS, costs estimates for these proposed street, utility, storm sewer, trail and parking lot improvements are provided in the feasibility report; and WHEREAS, it is proposed to assess a portion of the cost of the street improvements against properties within the project area; and WHEREAS, the estimated project cost is $1,901,136.00 and the project funding sources are currently estimated to be: Special Assessments $ 272,731.00 Sanitary Sewer Utility $ 34,456.00 Water Utility $ 69,738.00 Storm Sewer Utility $ 153,252.00 Capital Improvements Fund $ 130,036.00 Street Construction Fund $ 23,010.00 Municipal State Aid Fund $1 ,098,813.00 EBHC Fund $ 119.100.00 Total $1 ,901,136.00 RESOLUTION NO. 2005.-33 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1. The Engineer's Feasibility Report is received and accepted. 2. A hearing shall be held on the 14d' day of March, 2005, in the City Hall Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard to pass upon said improvement project and at such time and place all persons owning property affected by said improvements will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to said improvements. 3. The City Clerk is directed to cause a notice of the hearing to be published in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing, and shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement.
