HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-051 CCRMember Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2005-51 RESOLUTION TO RECEIVE PETITION FOR STREET AND STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ALONG 48TH AVENUE NORTH FROM DREW AVENUE NORTH TO LILAC DRIVE NORTH WHEREAS, the owner of real property abutting on 48th Avenue North, between the centerline of Drew Avenue North and Lilac Drive North, has submitted a petition for street and storm drainage improvements for said segment of 48th Avenue North; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk for the City of Brooklyn Center has examined said petition and found it to be in proper form and to be signed by the required number of owners of property affected by the making of the improvement as petitioned; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to further consider potential street and storm drainage improvements along said segment of 48th Avenue North. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1. A certain petition requesting improvements of 48th Avenue North, between the centerline of Drew Avenue North and the center line of Lilac Drive North, filed with the Council on March 14, 2005, is hereby declared to be signed by the required percentage of owners of property affected thereby. This declaration is made in conformity of Minn. Stat. 429.035. 2. The petition is hereby referred to the City Engineer and that person is instructed to report to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost- effective, and feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended. March 14. 2005 & _4--~ Date Mayor ATTEST: AtIjux -4~ City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Diane Niesen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Kay lasman, Diane Niesen, and Mary O'Connor; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
