HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981 08-10 HRAMMINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA SPECIAL SESSION AUGUST 10, 1981 CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority met in special session and was called to order by Chairman Dean Nyquist at 12:15 a.m. ROLL CALL Chairman Dean Nyquist, Commissioners Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott. Also present were HRA Director Gerald Splinter, Director of Finance Paul Holmlund, Director of Public Works Sy Knapp, Director of Planning & Inspection Ron Warren, City Attorney Richard Schieffer, and Administrative Assistants Brad Hoffman and Tom Bublitz. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - JULY 27, 1981 There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Kuefler to approve the minutes of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority meeting of July 27, 1981 as submitted. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Kuefler, Fignar, Lhotka, and Scott. Voting against: none, the motion passed unanimously. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO CONDUCT PRELIMINARY SURVEY AND AUTHORIZATION TO OBTAIN 1.PPRAISALS ON THE SITE PROPOSED FOR THE ELDERLY HOUSING PROJECT Administrative Assistant Hoffman stated the preliminary survey is necessary prior to beginning discussions with the developer. He stated that a financing plan will also be required. Over the next few weeks, he pointed out, a number of actions will have to be taken by the Housing Authority with regard to the project and he stated he wanted to make the Housing Authority aware that these actions would be forthcoming. With regard to the cost of the survey and appraisals, he stated the preliminary survey would cost approximately $2,000 and that the appraisals would cost an additional $2,000 for a total of $4,000. There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Fignar to approve the staff request for authorization to conduct a preliminary survey and authorization to obtain, appraisals on the site proposed for the elderly housing project. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Kuefler, Fignar, Lhotka, and Scott. Voting against: none, the motion passed unanimously. ADJOURNMENT There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Kuefler to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Kuefler, Fignar, Lhotka, and Scott. Voting against: none, the motion passed unanimously. The Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority adjourned at 12:20 a.m. Irma//
