HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981 05-18 HRAMMINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA SPECIAL SESSION MAY 18, 1981 CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority met in special session and was called to order by Chairman Dean Nyquist at 11:39 p.m. ROLL CALL Chairman Dean Nyquist, Commissioners Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott. Also present were HRA Director Gerald Splinter, Director of Public Works Sy Knapp, Director of Planning & Inspection Ron Warren, Director of Finance Paul Holmlund, City Attorney Richard Schieffer, and Administrative Assistants Brad "Hoffman and Tom Bublitz. ' Chairman Nyquist noted that Commissioner Kuefler was out of town and would be absent from this evening's meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - APRIL 20, 1981 There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Lhotka to approve the minutes of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority meeting of April 20, 1981 as submitted. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Fignar, Lhotka, and Scott. Voting against: none, the motion passed. RESOLUTION NO. 81-8 Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION APPROVING THREE (3) BROOKLYN CENTER HOUSING REHABILITATION GRANTS The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Gene Lhotka, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. DISCUSSION ITEM: ELDERLY HOUSING PROJECT Administrative Assistant Hoffman reviewed a memorandum-discussing the proposed elderly housing project and stated the staff is looking for concerns that the Housing Authority may have about the project or tax increment financing in general. He stated the staff is seeking input from the HRA prior to the time the tax increment financing plan is presented. ADJ %JV Ri'3MENT There was a motion by Commissioner Fignar and seconded by Commissioner Lhotka to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Fignar, Lhotka, and Scott. Voting against: none, the motion passed. The Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority adjourned a 11:45 p.m. Chairman 5-18-81 -1-
