HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980 02-25 HRAMMINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA SPECIAL SESSION FEBRUARY 25, 1980 CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority met in special session and was called to order by Chairman Dean Nyquist at 9:39 p.m. ROLL CALL Chairman Dean Nyquist, Commissioners Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott. Also present were NRA Director Gerald Splinter, Director of Public works Sy Knapp, Director of Planning and Inspection Ron Warren, Park and Recreation Director Gene Hagel, Acting City Attorney John Dean, Civil Engineer Jim Grube, and Administrative Assistants Brad Hoffman and Tom Bublitz. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - JANUARY 7, 1980 There was a motion by Commissioner Lhotka and seconded by Commissioner Fignar to approve the minutes of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority meeting of January 7, 1980 as submitted. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Kuefler, Fignar, Lhotka, and Scott. Voting against none. The motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION APPROVING HOME REHABILITATION GRANT APPLICATIONS The HRA Director introduced a resolution approving home rehabilitation grant applications and explained that the staff feels the grants have been awarded for rehabilitation projects which are very needed. He explained that the City staff feels the grant funds are getting to the areas which were targeted for funding with the grant program. RESOLU'T'ION NO. 80-7 Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION APPROVING SEVEN (7) BROOKLYN.CENTER HOUSING REHABILITATION GRANTS The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Gene Lhotka, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. ADJOURNMENT There was a motion by Commissioner Lhotka and seconded by Commissioner Kuefler to adjourn the Housing and Redevelopment meeting. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Kuefler, Fignar, Lhotka, and Scott. Voting against: none. The motion passed unanimously.
