HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-007 HRARMember Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 79-7 RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL TO PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES TO THE BROOKLYN CENTER HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center has established a local Housing and Rehabilitation Grant Program to be funded with Community Development Block Grant monies; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center by virtue of Resolution No. 79-203 requested the Metropolitan Council to provide administrative services for the Housing and Rehabilitation Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center by virtue of Resolution No. 79-231 has authorized the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority to act as the local administrating agency for the local Home Rehabilitation Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority has the authority to contract for administrative services for the Brooklyn Center's local Home Rehabilitation Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has been duly organized pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 1976, Section 473.123 and has all of the power and duties of a Housing and Redevelopment Authority pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 1976, Section 473.193 under the provisions of the Municipal Housing and Redevelopment Act, Minnesota Statutes 1976, Sections 462.411 to 462.711. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority that it does hereby approve the terms and conditions of the contract between the Metropolitan Council and the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority to provide admini- strative services for the Brooklyn Center Home Rehabilitation Grant Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority does hereby authorize and direct its Chairman and Executive Director to enter into and execute on behalf of the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority a contract with the Metropolitan Council to administer Brooklyn Center's Home Rehabilitation Grant Program. November 19, 1979 Date Cher The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
