HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-083 CCRMember Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2004-83 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING INSURANCE SETTLEMENT FOR WILLOW LANE PARK SHELTER BUILDING WHEREAS, a structure fire that occurred on January 25, 2004 resulted in substantial damage to the park shelter building located within Willow Lane Park; and WHEREAS, Allied Adjusters, representing the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust, has offered an insurance settlement to compensate for environmental assessment costs and the loss of city property that resulted from said structure fire. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that: 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and accept an insurance settlement from the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust for environmental assessment costs and the loss of city property resulting from the January 25, 2004 structure fire at Willow Lane Park. 2. The insurance settlement amounts are anticipated to be in the following approximate amounts: Environmental Assessment $ 373.20 Building Contents $ 16,419.65 Structure Damage $ 94,714.37 Total $ 111,507.22 June 14. 2004 P ate ATTEST: %2 WIN *W-LtA& City Clerk 7~3r.- - 6v~ The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kathleen Carmody and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Kay Lasman, Diane Niesen, and Bob Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
