HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-022 CCRMember Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2004-22 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ENGINEER'S FEASIBILITY REPORT AND CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NOS. 2004- 01, 02,03 AND 04, NORTHPORT AREA NEIGHBORHOOD STREET, STORM DRAINAGE, AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council, by ResolutionNo. 2003-150 directed the preparation of an engineer's feasibility report regarding proposed improvements to the streets, storm drainage system and public utilities in the Northport Neighborhood as described in said report; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has prepared said report, and recommends that the proposed improvements be considered; and WHEREAS, the costs have been estimated for these proposed street, utility and storm sewer improvements; and WHEREAS, it is proposed to assess a portion of the cost of the street and storm drainage improvements against properties within the project area; and WHEREAS, the estimated project cost is estimated to be $3,365,085 and the project funding sources are currently estimated to be: Street Special Assessments $519,110 Storm Drainage Special Assessments $165,020 Sanitary Sewer Utility $614,745 Water Utility $635,760 Storm Sewer Utility $467,720 Street Light Utility $51,000 Street Construction Fund $563,330 Municipal State Aid $348.400 Total $3,365,085 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1. A hearing shall be held on the 80' day of March, 2004, in the City Hall Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard to pass upon said improvement project and at such time and place all persons owning property affected by said improvements will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to said improvements. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2004-22 2. The City Clerk is directed to cause a notice of the hearing to be published in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing, and shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. Februarv 9. 2004 Date ATTEST: ~a City Clerk Ma or Ae-4L The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Diane Niesen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Kay Tasman, Diane Niesen, and Bob Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
