HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-035 CCRMember Diane Niesen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2004-35 RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2004-06, CONTRACT 2004-C, 73RD AVENUE NORTH STREET AND STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council has accepted the Engineer's Feasibility Report for Improvement Project No. 2004-06, Contract 2004-C, 73rd Avenue North Street and Storm Drainage Improvements, has heard and passed said improvement project; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the street and storm drainage improvement portion of said project is estimated to be $193,600; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk has prepared a proposed assessment roll showing the proposed amount to be specifically assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece, or parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that: 1. That portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners for street improvements is declared to be $56,120.00. That portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners for storm drainage improvements is declared to be $17,840. 2. A hearing shall be held on the 12d' day of April, 2004, in the City Hall Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard to pass upon such assessment and at such time and place all persons owning property affected by such improvements will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to such assessment. 3. The City Clerk is directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed assessment to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing, and shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. 4. Myrna Krapess, Kathleen Carmody, Diane Niesen, and Bob Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
