adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2003-15
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY
FROM POLICE PROPERTY STORAGE TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, on October 15, 2000 a large amount of computer equipment was seized
in a felony theft arrest outside of Office Depot; and
WHEREAS, the suspect had over $10,000 in computer-related stolen merchandise
located in a rented van as well as stolen merchandise stored in two hotel rooms;
WHEREAS, there were no receipts or stickers to indicate where the merchandise was stolen
from; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 2 of the City ordinances of the City of Brooklyn
Center, the City Council can authorize the appropriation of said property for City use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the property is hereby declared abandoned and unclaimed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby directed to transfer
this property to the Police Department.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Bob 'Peppe
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.
Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Kay Lasman, Diane Niesen, and Bob Peppe;
and the following voted against the same: none;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
