HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-051 CCRadoption: Member Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its RESOLUTION NO. 2003-51 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION OF LAURI WINTERS WHEREAS, Lauri Winters was the community editor of the Brooklyn Center Sun- Post since March 1995; and WHEREAS, Lauri Winters served the residents of Brooklyn Center by weekly reporting important information about the community including, development and redevelopment issues, new businesses, recreation programs and events, Earle Brown Days activities, street improvement projects, elections, proposed legislation, and many other issues facing Brooklyn Center residents; and WHEREAS, Lauri Winters exhibited a dedication to the Brooklyn Center community that included countless hours and a personal commitment to community programs, events, and activities; and WHEREAS, Lauri Winters' reporting promoted a very positive image of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, her dedicated public service and civic effort for the betterment of the community merit the gratitude of the citizens of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, it is highly appropriate that her service to the community should be recognized and expressed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that it expresses its appreciation and recognition of Lauri Winters and her many accomplishments while serving as the community editor for Brooklyn Center Sun-Post.
