Member Ed Nelson introduced the following resolution and moved its
RESOLUTION NO. 2002-125

RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATES'FOR TRUTH IN TAXATION PUBLIC
HEARINGS AND ADOPTION OF THE GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR
2003
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is annually required by state statute to
hold public hearings on its proposed annual budget and proposed property tax levies; and
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is annually required by Charter and
state statute to adopt an annual budget at a public meeting; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that the following meeting dates for the City Council be set:
1. An initial Truth in Taxation Public Hearing will be held at 7:00 PM on
Monday, December 2, 2002 to take public comment on the proposed
property tax levy and proposed budget for the year 2003.
2. A continuation of the Truth in Taxation Public Hearing will be held at
6:00 PM on Monday, December 9, 2002 to take comments on the
proposed property tax levy and the proposed budget for the year 2003 if
the initial public hearing was not sufficient to take all comments.
3. A regular City Council meeting will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday,
December 9, 2002 at which time the City Council will hold a public
hearing and adopt the final payable 2003 property tax levies and the final
2003 budget.

The motion for adoption of the forgoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Kay Lasman
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Myrna Kragness, Kay Lasman, Ed Nelson, Bob Peppe, and
and the following voted against same: n o n e ;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
