HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-07 04-11 CCO I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE VILLAGE ORDINANCES - PLUMBING THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3 -504 - AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS CODE is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 3 -504. AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS CODE. (a) Permits shall be issued only to individuals or contractors licensed as master plumbers by the Minnesota State Board of Health, except an individual may obtain a permit and may do plumbing work which complies with the provisions of the minimum standards herein prescribed on premises or that part of premises owned and actually occupied by him as his homestead if he shall file with the Inspector an affidavit showing that he is performing the actual work himself in such homestead. No permits will be issued to the home owner for sewer and water connections. No journeyman shall install plumbing as herein defined unless he is authorized to do so under the State Plumbing Code. (b) The applicant, except an individual doing work on his own homestead, shall first file a surety bond of $4, 000.00 running to the Village of Brooklyn Center to compensate the Village for any damages caused to the Village water system and appurtenances and Village sewer system and appurtenances. (c) The applicant, except an individual doing work on his own homestead, shall first file with the Village Clerk certificates of insurance issued by a company or companies duly licensed to do business in the State of Minnesota which shall be written on the comprehensive liability form and shall include manufacturers and contractors liability, independent contractors liability, products and completed operations liability, automobile liability including employers non - ownership liability in not less than the following amounts: Bodily injury liability: $100,000.00 each person $300,000.00 for injuries as a result of any one occurence. Property damage liability: $ 50, 000.00 each accident $100,000.00 aggregate Section 3 -504 (c) (font' d) Automobile liability: Bodily injury: $100,000.00 each person $300, 000.00 each occurrence Property Damage: $ 50, 000.00 each occurrence Any such evidence or certificate or certificates shall provide that it may not be cancelled by the insurer except upon ten days written notice to the Village of Brooklyn Center. In case of cancellation of such insurance, such license shall be suspended automatically until such insurance has been replaced. Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective from and after its legal publication. Adopted this .11th day of April 1966. f' M ATTEST: Clerk
