HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-070 CCRMember Ed Nelson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2002-70 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR AN OPPORTUNITY GRANT THROUGH THE LIVABLE COMMUNITIES DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is a participant in the Livable Communities Act's Housing Incentives Program for 2002 as determined by the Metropolitan Council, and is therefore eligible to make application for funds under the Livable Communities Demonstration Account; and WHEREAS, the City has identified a proposed project within the City that meets the Demonstration Account's purpose/s and criteria; and WHEREAS, the City has the institutional, managerial and financial capability to ensure adequate project administration; and WHEREAS, the City certifies that it will comply with all application laws and regulations as stated in the contract agreements; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota agrees to act as legal sponsor for the project contained in the opportunity grant application submitted on May 15, 2002. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to apply to the Metropolitan Council for this funding on behalf of the City of Brooklyn Center and to execute such agreements as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of the applicant. May 13, 2002 Date Mayor ATTEST: Lrt City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kay Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Kay Lasman, Ed Nelson, Bob Peppe, and Tim Ricker; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
