HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-037 CCR1 Member Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption : RESOLUTION NO. 2002-37 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING DIANE SPECTOR IN RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION OF HER SERVICE TO THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, Diane Spector has been employed by the City of Brooklyn Center from Decemb,-r 14, 1988, through May 3, 2002, serving as Public Works Coordinator and most recently as Director of Public Works; and WHEREAS, Ms. Spector has recently resigned from the City of Brooklyn Center in pursuit c f new opportunities; and WHEREAS, during her 13 years of service to the City of Brooklyn Center she has worked, eery diligently and competently in many areas of Public Works; and WHEREAS, during her tenure as Public Works Director, the City has undertaken many notable Public Works projects including a very successful neighborhood street reconstruction program, a cooperat ive project with Hennepin County to reconstruct a substantial portion of Brooklyn Boulevard with mai iy pedestrian and bike amenities, the replacement of substantially all of the outdated park and playground equipment, an addition to the Public Works garage, the expansion and enhancement of the City's tr, it system, and worked to provide numerous opportunities for Public Works employees; and WHEREAS, Ms. Spector has also been involved in significant community volunteerism. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, i tpon the recommendation of the City Manager, that this resolution be and hereby is adopted in recognit [on and appreciation of the many accomplishments and 13 years of service to the City provided by Dian(, Spector. Marcli 13, 2002 Date X~cl~~e Mayor ATTES'C: ~CU1,dyL`' ~l/h~tti City Clerk The mot ion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Ed Nelson and upo 7 vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrni Kragness, Kay Lasman, Ed Nelson, and Bob Peppe; and the :ollowing voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
