HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-122 CCRMember Kay Tasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2001-122 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY'S SPECIAL ASSESSMENT POLICY REGARDING TREATMENT OF PARCELS USED AS SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL BUT ZONED AS OTHER THAN R1, R2, OR R3 WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution 94-274 adopted on December 19, 1994 a Special Assessment Policy establishing-policies and procedures relating to public improvements and public improvement financing; and WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said policy; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the policy to provide that properties in commercial zones that are used for single family residential purposes be assessed for improvement projects in the same manner as properties zoned R-1. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that the City's Special Assessment policy is hereby amended to add the following subsection, Section II (B) (3) (3) 3. For owner-occupied residential properties located in a commercially zoned area, where such property is not susceptible to subdivision into more than 2 residential uses with direct street access, the assessment shall be equal to the assessment amount established for residential properties zoned R-1 times the number of lots into which the property is susceptible to subdivision. Myrna Kragness, Kay Lasman, Ed Nelson, Bob Peppe, and Tim Ricker; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
