OF THE VILLAGE ORDINANCES BY REMOVING THJMkR ROM ALL REFERENCES
TO BOWLING ALLEYS AND ENACTING A NEW PROVISION FOR THE LICENSING
OF BOWLING ALLEYS
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Y,
1. Section 23 -201 through Section 23 -208, both inclusive, are hereby
amended to omit from said sections all references to bowling alleys.
2. A new section shall be added to the ordinances of the village to
read as follows:
Section 23 -209 LICENSING OF BOWLING ALLEYS. No persons shall
own or operate any bowling alley which is to be used by the public until and
unless he has been licensed by the Village Council. An applicant for such
license shall state in writing the name and address of the owner or owners
of the property in which the bowling alley is located, the names and addresses
of the persons who operate the bowling alley, the location of said bowling
alley and a general description thereof. Said application shall be accom-
panied by the required licensing fee. If the Village Council shall find
that the owners and operators of the bowling alley are persons of good moral
character and that the operation of the bowling alley will be carried on
in conformity with all the laws and ordinances applicable thereto and that
the operation of a bowling alley at the place indicated is consistent with
the character of the community immediately surrounding, then it may grant
a license which will expire on December 31 next following. The annual fee
for such license shall be $10.00 for the first alley and $7.00 for each
additional alley located in one establishment. If an owner or operator
shall be convicted of any violation of any of the ordinances of the village
or laws of the state in connection with the operation of said bowling alley,
the village council may revoke said license or may cause the same to be
suspended for a time to be determined by the village council. Any person
who shall own or operate any bowling alley without being licensed under the
provisions of this ordinance shall., upon conviction therefor, be subject to
a penalty not to exceed $100 fine or 90 days in jail.
3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its publication.
