. PETROLEUM GAS SYSTEMS

The Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center do ordain as follows;
Section 3 -811. PERMIT REQUIRED. No person, firm or corporation
shall hereafter install, alter, maintain or repair any system for the use of
liquified petroleum gas for lighting, cooling or heating within the Village of
Brooklyn Center without first obtaining a permit therefor.
Section 3 -812. PERMIT FEE AND INSPECTION. An applicant for a permit
shall submit a plan of the proposed installation, including a proposed layout,
which describes the containers, valves, piping, fittings, safety devices and
appliances to be installed. The permit fee shall be $5.00. The Building Inspector
shall be notified as soon as the installation is completed, and as soon as
practicable thereafter the Building Inspector shall conduct a pressure test of
the system. No system shall be placed in use until the pressure test has been
made and the installation approved in writing by the Building Inspector.
Section 3 -813. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS. Every installation shall be
made only by a licensed plumber or licensed gas fitter and shall conform to the
Rules and Regulations of the State Fire Marshal.
Section 3 -814. CORRECTION OF UNSAFE CONDITIONS. The Building
Inspector and the.Village Fire Marshal are hereby empowered to cause any
liquified petroleum system to be shut off whenever they shall find that the
system does not comply with the requirements of the ordinance, or whenever the
system for any reason presents an immediate hazard to life or property. They may
attach a warning tag to such system which states that such system is in violation
of this ordinance or constitutes an immediate hazard. It shall be unlawful for
any person to cause said system to be placed in use thereafter until it shall be
approved by the Building Inspector in writing.

Section 3 -815. PENALTIES. Any person, firm, or corporation
violating this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be fined not more than
$100.00 or sentenced to not more than 90 days imprisonment.
