HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-14 03-19 CCO r� AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUILDING CODE ORDINANCE TO REPEAL EXISTING FEE CHARGES AND ESTABLISH NEW FEE SCHEDULES THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF BROOFMYN CENTER DO ORDAIN: Section 1. The following ew sections shall be added to Chapter g p 3 of the Village Ordinances in the place and order designated by the Section numbers: " Fees "Section 3 -816. FEES REQUIRED. The following fees are hereby established and required and shall be collected before the issuance of any permits for which fees are required under the provisions of this ordinance. "Section 3 -817. BUILDING FEES. The Building Inspector, before issuing any permit for the construction or alteration of any building or structure, shall require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees in the amount hereinafter set forth and in the manner provided, to -wit: (a) For any such permit for the erection of any building or structure other than commercial and industrial buildings and buildings of public assemblage, or for the erection of any addition for similar occupancy to any existing building, the fees so charged, shall for each such building or addition included in such ermit be based on the cubical tot o p , e conte s f each building or addition, and shall be at the rate of $3.00 for the first 1,000 cubic feet or fraction thereof, and 75¢ for each additional 1 cubic feet or fraction thereof, of space within the proposed structure. (b) For any such permit for the erection of a commercial or industrial building or buildings of public assemblage, or for the erection of any addition for similar occupancy to any existing building, a fee shall be charged at the rate of $1.10 for every thousand cubic feet or fraction thereof of space within the proposed structure. (c) For any such permit for the repair, remodeling or alteration to any existing building or structure the fee charged for such permit shall be as follows: (1) If the estimated cost for all proposed work is $50.00 or less, no fee shall be charged. (2) If the estimated cost for all proposed work is between $50.00 and $500.00, the fee shall be $3.00. (3) If the estimated cost for all proposed work is between $500.00 and $1,000.00, the fee shall be $5.00 (4) If the estimated cost for all proposed work exceeds $1,000.00, the fee shall be $5.00 plus $2.00 for each $1,000..00 of estimated cost, or fraction thereof, in excess of $1,000.00. (d) For the purpose of computing fees for building permits as above provided, the cubical contents of any proposed structure or addition to an existing structure shall be computed in the following manner to determine the cost of the building permit; (1) If the proposed structure or addition consists of one story without basement, the cubic feet shall be determined by multiplying the actual square footage by fifteen (15). (2) If the proposed structure or addition consists of one story and basement, the cubic feet shall be determined by multiplying the actual square footage by twenty (20). (3) If the proposed structure or addition consists of one story, a basement, and expansion area, the cubic feet shall be determined by multiplying the actual square footage by twenty -four (24) . (4) If the proposed structure or addition consists of two stories and basement, the cubic feet shall be determined by multiplying the actual square footage by twenty -eight '(28). (5) The cubic feet in garages, porches and breezeways shall be determined by multiplying the actual square footage therein by ten (10). (6) If the proposed structure or addition does not fit in the categories set out in (1) through (5) above, the cubic feet shall be determined in accordance with accepted engineering methods. "Section 3 -818. ELECTRICAL FEES. The following fees shall be charged for electrical work; i Outlets (a) For -each permit for new or additional electric light wiring, for the first ten (10) lighting outlets, or for any fraction thereof, if less than ten (10), there shall be a minimum fee of $2.20; And for each ten (10) such outlets, or fraction thereof, in excess of the first ten (10), there shall be an additional fee of $1.20. Lighting outlets shall be construed to mean any outlets installed for lighting fixtures, wall receptacles or floor receptacles where such receptacles are permitted on branch lighting circuits. Every such receptacle shall be considered a separate outlet. The outlet fee shall cover the installation of the wall receptacles or floor receptacles. Provided, Further, that lighting outlets shall also be construed to mean any outlets installed for future connection for lighting purposes. I For the purposes of this ordinance, each group of lights for window illumination, rigidly attached to one another and made up and installed as one unlit and said unit insulated from all grounded metal work in th±e manner provided by ordinance for fixtures, shall be considered as one (1) outlet only, when estimating the fee for a wiring permit, and as fixture only when estimating the fee for a fixture permit. Sign Circuit: (b) For each permit for wiring for and /or connecting an electric sign, for the first branch circuit required for such sign, $1.50. And for each additional branch circuit required for such sign, 50 cents. Heating Devices - Motors - Transformers, Etc.: (c) For each permit for wiring for, installing and connectiL g electric motors, or other apparatus rated in horsepower (H.P.) there shall be a minimum fee for the first one (1) H.P., or fraction thereof, of $2,.00. And for each additional horse -power (H.P.), or fraction thereof, in excess of one (1) H.P., but not exceeding two hundred (200) H.P., 15 cents. And for each ten (10) horse- power, or fraction thereof, in excess of two hundred (200) H.P., 15 cents. For each permit for wiring for, installing and connecting transformers for lighting or heat or power, generators, heating devices, rectifiers or other apparatus rated in watts, there shall be a minimum fee of $246 for the first one (1) Kilo -volt- ampere (K.V.A.) capacity or fraction thereof, except for replacement of an electric range for domestic use, the fee shall be $2.00. For each Kilo- volt - ampere capacity, or fraction thereof, in excess of one (1), but not exceeding two hundred (200) K.V.A., there shall be an additional fee of 15 cents. And for each ten (10) Kilo- volt - amperes capacity, or fraction thereof in excess of two hundred (200) K.V.A., there shall be an additional fee of 15 cents. In determining the amount of the fees in this subdivision (c), the units in each class of the apparatus enumerated in this subdivision shall be figured collectively but each class shall be figured independently of the other class, and motor - generators shall be rated according to the rated horse- j power of the motor only. Sockets: (d) For each permit for the installation of lamp sockets or lamp receptacles for use on lighting fixtures and drop cords or attached directly to the outlet, the minimum fee shall be $1.10 for the first ten (10) sockets or receptacles, or for any fraction thereof, if less than ten (10). I i Z And for each ten (10) such sockets or receptacles, or fraction thereof, in excess of the first ten (10); there shall be an additional fee of 85 cents. Sockets - Border, Strip, Outline, etc.: (e) For each permit for the wiring of each complete outlir.e lighting (other than luminous tube lighting), marquee, stage border, stage footlight group, stage proscenium strip, or temporary lighting when permitted, the fee shall be $1.10 for the first ten (10) sockets, or receptacles, or for ar._y fraction thereof, if less them ten (10), including the installation of ouch sockets, or receptacles; And for the next twenty (20) sockets, or fraction thereof 85 cents; And for the next thirty (30) sockets. or Fraction thereof, 85 cents; And for any fifty (50) sockets, or fraction thereof, in excess of the first s'..xty (60) such sockets, or receptacles, 85 cents. Outline lighting shall be construed to mean that class of lighting used on the outside of buildings to mark the outlines thereof by the use of incandescent lamps. Luminous Tubes: (f) For each permit for wiring for and /or installing outline, decorative, display or other lighting employing luminous tubes energized by transformers, for the first five hundred (500) volt- amperes, or fraction thereof, $2.25; And for each additional one hundred (100) volt eres ( } amp , over the first 500, 15 cents. This volt.- ampere rating shall be based on primary current and voltage. Sign and Billboard Wiring: (g) For each permit for the wiring of each electric sign for outdoor use or of each billboard, employing incandescent lamps for illumination, or luminous tubes energized by transformers, for the first five hundred (500) volt - amperes, or fraction thereof in the capacity of such sign or billboard, $2.25; And for each additional one hundred (100) volt - amperes, or fraction thereof, 15 cents. The words, "wiring of," as used in this subdivision, shall be construed to include all electrical fittings and devices in or attached to the exterior of any such sign or billboard, but not including any supply wires thereto. i 3 Alterations and Repairs: (h) The fee for each permit for the alteration, rearrangement or • repairing of existing electrical equipment, or for other electrical work not ;.nc'.uded in the above, shall be $2.25 for the first one hundred dollars ($100.00), or fraction in the estimated cost thereof; And for each additional one hundred dollars ($100.00), or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work $1.50 shall be added to above prescribed fee for such permit. Combined Permit: (i) Where a combined permit is issued for bath wiring and fixtures, the fee to be charged for such permit shall equal the combined fees, as above set forth, for each such class of such work of installation. Stereopticons: (j) For a permit for wiring for and installing a stereopticon, or stereopticons, whether a receptacle is used or not, for each complete stereopticon or receptacle for one, installed thereunder, $1.50. Moving Picture Machines: (k) For each permit for wiring for, installing and connecting moving picture machines, for each complete machine, $5.00, not including the rectifying apparatus. Storage Batteries: (1) For each permit for wiring for, installing and connecting a storage battery, for each ten (10) kilowatt hours rated capacity, or fraction thereof, $2.25. Are Lamps, Etc.: (m) For each permit for installing and connecting mercury vapor lamps or are lamps, other than those used in moving picture machines or stereopticons, the fee shall be in addition to the fee required by this ordinance for the permit for wiring for the outlets for same and shall be, for each ten (10) such lamps, or any fraction thereof, $1.10. Decorative: (n) For each permit for installing and connecting outdoor seasoner L decorative stringer lighting over public property, whether connected to street lighting or serviced from adjacent buildings, the fee for each such stringer, including the electrical service thereto, shall be $2.50. Fire Alarm Systems. (o) For the installation of fire alarm systems connected to the Municipal Fire Alarm System, for 1 to 5 stations, inclusive, Five Dollars 9 ($5.00); for each additional group of 10 stations, or fraction thereof, • Five Dollars ($5,00). Provided, however that the total fee shall in no 3.'as'smee exceed the sum of Forty Dollars ($40.00). "Section 3 -819. PLUMBING FEES. The following fees shall be charged fo -° plumbing work; (a) The fees for all plumbing permits shall be computed or tlh:a basis of the number of plumbing fixtures and /or devices provided for !--..I such permits, whether subsequently so installed or not, and the fee for eae.'a such fixture so provided for shall, except as hereinafter otherwise specifically provided, be $1.20. Where any such permit is issued for the installation of plumb'.ng work providing for certain proposed fixtures which are to be installed or set later and for which fixture openings are to be left, a fee of 95 cen•;,s shall be charged for each such opening, which fee shall be in addition to th fee charEcd for other plumbing work, if any, included in the same pem.i �?Taere any such permit is issued for the setting only of certain plumbing _fixtures on openings previously left for same, a fee of 80 cen*:;s shall be charged for each such fixture, which fee shall be in addit:i.cn to the fee charged for other plumbing work, if any, included in the same per-mit. Where any such permit is issued for any of the following spec9.fi.cally mentioned plumbing fixtures or other devices the fee which shall be charged for each such fixture or device shall be as follows and shall be in eddi.tion to the fee charged for other plumbing work, if any, included in the same permit; Beer dispenser, when connected with water supply.........$l.20 Blow -off basin ............ ............................... 3.25 Catch - basin......- ......... ............................... 3.25 Electric water heater ..... ............................... 2.00 New ground run for existing building ..................... 2025 Hy draulic valve ........ ........................• 2 . 2 5 Rainwater leader, for 10 stories or fraction thereof and for each 15 stories or fraction thereof in excess of 10 stories..... ... 3925 Sump or receiving tank .... ............................... 3.25 (b) For the purpose of this ordinance, a plumbing fixture shall be taken to mean and include any sink, laundry tub, bathtub, wash basin, drinking fountain, floor drain or any other plumbing device arranged to be connected with the sewer or plumbing system, e't'her directly or indirectly, and required by ordinance to be trapped. Alterations and Repairs; (c) For each permit for the alteration or repairing of existing plumbing or for other plumbing work not included above, the fee shall be $2.00 for the first One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), or fraction thereof in the estimated cost of such proposed work; J For each additional One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), or fraction thereof in such estimated cost $1,00 shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. (d) For each permit for the construction of a sewage disposal system or connection with the village sanitary sewer system, the fne shall by $5,00. In the case of a connection to the village sanitary sewer system, this fee shall be in addition to the usual service charge of Lhe Village for such connection. (e) For each permit for the construction of a well or connection with the village water supply system, the fee shall be $5.00. In the case of a connection to the village water supply system, this fee shall be in addition to the usual service charge of the Village for such connecti;.n. "Section 3 - 820. GAS FITTING FEES. The following fees shall be rtharned for installation of gas piping, fixtures or devices: For any permit for installing gas piping, providing for not to exceied 5 gas fixtures or gas devices, $1.25, and for the piping for each addi.ti.onal fixture provided for, 25 cents shall be added to such per-I - ,t.. Where any such permit is issued for both gas piping and plimbing, the fee for such permit shall be equal to the combined fees for each of said classes of work or installation. • Gas Stoves, Ranges, Etc.: For any permit for installing gas stoves, ranges, hot plates, steam tables, dental devices, refrigerators, retorts, bake ovens, room heaters, barbecue grilles, hair dryers or other similar gas burning devices, having an input not to exceed 200,000 Btu, the fee charged shall be $1.10 for each such device included in such permit; for inputs over 200,000 Btu but not to exceed 1 00,000 Btu, $4.00; for inputs exceeding 44.000 Btu, the fee shall be as provided in this section for gas burners for use in connection with a heating system, which fee shall be in addition to the fee charged, as above provided, for the installation of any gas piping for said devices and for any other gas fitting work, if any, included in said permit. Gas Water Heaters: For any permit for installing gas water heaters, the fee charged shat b 2 e $2.00 for each such device included in such rmit s which fee shall � be in addition to the fee charged, as above provided, for the installation of any gas piping for said devices and for any other gas fitting work, if any, included in said permit. Gas Burners: For any permit for the installation of a gas burner and /or its equipment, for use in connection with a heating system, having an input of nc-'71 to exceed 400,000 Btu., $4.00; For inputs exceeding 400,000 Btu but not to exceed 500,000 Btu $ 5.00 "cr inputs exceeding 500 Btu but not to exceed 1,000,000 Btu 20.00 Fcr inputs exceeding 1,000,000 Btu but not to exceed 2,500,000 Btu 50.00 Y' z inputs exceeding 2,500,000 BTu but not to exceed 10,000,000 Btu C =x.00 F-e 'Inputs exceeding 10,000,000 Btu but not to exceed 50,000,000 Btu 30,00 F -' :�ljputs exceeding 50,000,000 Btu but not to exceed 75,000,000 Btu ;00.00 For inputs exceeding 75,000,000 Btu Where more than one gas burner or multiple gas burners are to be installed in a single boiler, furnace or other device shall, for the p of establishing permit fees therefor, be considered as a single burner. The above fees shall be in addition to the fee charged for the permit for the installation of any gas piping for said burners or equipment. For any permit for alterations or repairs to any existing gas burner or gas burner equipment where the cost of such proposed work does not exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00), $4.00; And for each additional five hundred dollars ($500.00), or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, $2.00 shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. "Section 3 -821. HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING MS. The following fees shall be charged for the construction, installation, alteration or repair of any furnace, boiler, heating or power plant or system, or any device or equipment connected therewith, or for any other device co or to be connected, with any chimney or stack, or for the construct;11on, installation, alteration or repair of any cooling piping and equip.a(ant, or of any air conditioning system or ventilation system or sheet metal duct work or equipment connected therewith or of any refrigeration plant or equipment. Power Plants; '(a) For any permit for the installation of a power plant, or of a boiler, or furance and boiler, in connection with any such plant, for each such boiler, or furnace and boiler, or power plant to be installed thereunder having an output or capacity not exceeding 200,000 Btu per hour or 6 H.P., $1+.00. For each additional 10 Btu per hour or 3 H.P. output or capacity or fraction thereof, $2.00. For any permit for alterations or repairs to any existing power plant, or boiler or furnace and boiler in connection with a power plant, where the cost of the proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), $4.00; And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, $2.00. Gravity Warm Air Heating Systems: (b) For any permit for the installation of a gravity warm air heating system, for each such system installed thereunder, $8.00, For any permit for the installation of a gravity warm air furnace replacing an existing warm air furnace used in connection with a g- In%"'.•'s warm a'.-, heating system, for each such furnace to be installed thereul?rl ^r �; -.00. For any permit for alterations or repairs to any existing gra°vIt,', warm air heating system or furnace in connection with any such system, where the cost of the proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), $4.00; And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, $2.00 shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. Mechanical Warm Air Heating Systems: (c) For any permit for the installation of a mechanical warm air heating system, for each such heating system to be installed thereunder having an output or capacity not exceeding 120,000 Btu per hour, $8000. And for each additional 60,000 Btu per hour output or capacity or fraction thereof, $1.00 shall be added to the above Ares -gibed fee for such permit. For any permit for the installation of a furnace in connection with any such heating system, for each such furnace to be :installed thexv having an output or capacity not exceeding 120,000 Btu per hour, And for each additional 60,000 Btu per hour output or czpn ;ty or fraction thereof, $1.00 shall be added to the above prescribed feo for su, permit. For any permit for alterations or repairs to any existing mechanical warm air heating system in connection therewith, where the cost of such proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), $4.00. And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500,00), or fraction ,hereof, in the cost of such proposed work, $2.00 shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. Fan Heating Systems: (d) For any permit for the installation of a steam or hot water :.eating system for use in connection with a fan heating system, the required capacity of which does not exceed 400 square feet EDR steam or 640 square f eet EDR hot water, $8.00. X And for each additional required 200 square feet EDR steam or 320 square feet EDR hot water, or fraction thereof, in the required capacity of such system or plant, two dollars ($2.00) shall be added to the above i L prescribed fee for such permit: For any permit for the installation of the heating coils for use in connection with a fan heating system, supplied with steam or hot water by an existing steam or hot water system, the required capacity of which does not exceed 400 square feet EDR steam or 640 square feet EDR hot i*Asr, $4.00. And for each additional required 200 square feet EDR steam or 320 square feet EDR hot water, or fraction thereof, in the required capacity of such heating coils, one dollar ($1.00). For any permit for the installation of the sheet metal work and duct work, and equipment connected therewith (other than the steam or hot water heating plant or heating coils which furnish the heat), in any fan heating system, where the required capacity of such system or systems does not exceed 2,000 cubic feet of air per minute, $5.00; And for each additional 1,000 cubic feet per minute, or fraction thereof, in such required capacity, two dollars ($2.00) shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. For any permit for alterations or repairs to the sheet metal work or duct work, or equipment connected therewith, of any fan heating system, where the cost of the pr6p6sed w6r4 d6es not oxceed Five Hundred Dollars • ($500.00, $4.00. And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, two dollars ($2.00$ shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. Ventilating Systems: (e) For any permit for the installation of the duct work, sheet metal work and equipment in connection with a ventilating system, the required capacity of which does not exceed 2,000 cubic feet per minute, $5.00; And for each additional 1,000 cubic feet per minute, or fraction thereof, in such required capacity, two dollars ($2.00). For any permit for alterations or repairs to any such ventilating system and equipment, where the cost of the proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), $4.00; And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.0, or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. Air Conditioning Systems: (f) For any permit for the installatbn of the duct work, sheet metal work and equipment (other than heating or cooling coils, 1*ing and • refrigeration equipment) in connection with an air conditioning system, the required capacity of which does not exceed 2,000 cubic feet per minute, $5.00; And for each additional 1,000 cubic feet per minute, or fract:,aa thereof, in such required capacity, Two Dollars ($2.00). For any permit for the HEATING COILS for use in connection with an air conditioning system, supplied with steam or hot water by an existing steam or hot dater system the required capacity of which does not exceed 400 square feet EDR steam or 640 square feet EDR hot water, $4.00; And for each additional required 200 square feet EDR steam or 320 square feet EDR hot water, or fraction thereof, in the required capacity of such heating coils, One Dollar ($1.00). For any permit for the installation of COOLING COILS.. piping and equipment designed to accomplish the required cooling in connection with an air conditioning sy+#em, where the required capacity of the system for which such coils, piping and equipment is installed does not exceed 5 tons of refrigeration, Eight Dollars ($8.00). And for each additional 21 tons in such required capacity, or fraction thereof, One Dollar ($1.00) shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. • For any permit for alterations or repairs to any such heating coils, cooling coils, piping., equipment, sheet metal work or duct work in connection with an air conditioning system, where the cost of the proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500,00), $4.00; And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00)., or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. Steam or Hot Water Heating Systems: (g) For any permit for the installation of'a steam or hot water heating system, or for the installatbn for use in connection with a fan heat- ing system or air conditioning system of a,steam or hot water heating plant, the required capacity of which does not exceed 400 square feet EDR steam or 640 square feet hot water, $8.00; And for each additional required 200 square feet EDR steam or 32D square feet EDR hot water or fraction thereof, in the capacity of such system or plant.. Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be added to the above ]prescribed fee for such permit, For any permit for the installation of a steam or hot water boiler in connection with any existing heating system or plant, for each such boiler to be installed thereunder whose required capacity does not exceed 2,000 square feet EDR steam or 3,200 square feet EDR hot water, Four Dollars ($4.O0)j And for each additional 1,000 square feet EDR steam or 1,600 square • feet EDR hot water required capacity of such boiler, Two Dollars ($2.00) sh .11 be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. For any permit for alterations or repairs to the boiler, piping,, radiation, heating coils or other equipment of any such heating sys•Lrz1.a or plant where the cost of such proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), $4.00; And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. Oil Burners for Heating Systems: (h) For any permit for the installation of an oil burner and /or its equipment, for use in connection with a heating system, connected to a fuel oil storage tank or tanks not buried underground or otherwise enclosed, and having an input of not to exceed 3 gal. per hour, $4.00; For inputs from 4 Gal. per hour to 9 Gal. per hour, inclusive $6.00 For inputs from 10 Gal.per hour to 18 Gal. per hour, inclusive 9.00 For inputs from 19 Gal.per hour to 36 Gal.per hour, inclusive 15.OG For inputs from 37 Gal.per hour to 54 Gal.per hour inclusive 21.00 For inputs from 55 Gal.per hour to 75 Gal.per hour,inclusive 28.00 For inputs from 76 Gal.per hour to 93 Gal.per hour,inclusive 34.00 • For inputs over 93 Gal. per hour, $40.00. Whee fuel oil storage tanks are buried underground or otherwise enclosed the sum of $4.00 shall be added to the above prescribed fees. For any permit for the installation of a fuel oil storage tank or thanks only, for use in connection with an oil burner, not underground or otherwise enclosed, $2.00. For any permit for the installation of a fuel oil storage tank or tanks for use in connection with an oil burner installation, where such tanks are buried underground or otherwise enclosed, $4.00. For any permit for alterations or repafes to any existing oil burner or oil burner equipment where the cost of such proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($50000), $4.00; And for each additional five hundred dollars ($500.00), or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, $2.00 shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. Stokers and Powdered Fuel Burners: (i) For any permit for the installation of a stoker or stokers, for each stoker included in such permit, where the grate area of the furnace or boiler such stoker is required to serve does not exceed fourteen (14) square feet, $4.00; And for each additional square foot in the grate area of the furnace or boiler to be served by such stoker, Thirty (30) cents shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. NOTE: All of the stoker inside the boiler or furnace walls shall be construed as grate surface, including dead plates and side dumps. For any permit for the installation of a powdered fuel burner or burners, for each such burner included in such permit, where the capacity of such burner does not exceed Three Hundred and Fifty (350) pounds per hour, $4.00; And for each additional Twenty -five (25) pounds, or fraction thereof, in the capacity of such burner, Thirty (30) cents shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. For any permit for alterations or repairs to any stoker or stokers, or to any powdered fuel burner or burners, or to the equipment thereof, where the cost of the proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), $4.00; And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, $2.00 shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit. (J) All terms used in Section 8 of this Ordinance shall be interpreted as defined in the Minneapolis Heating Ordinance. (k) For any permit for the installation of a refrigeration plant or plants; for each plant included in such permit, having a rated capacity of not to exceed 3 horsepower, $4.00; For capacity in excess of 3 horse- power but not to exceed 15 horsepower, $8.00; For capacities in excess of 15 horsepower but not to exceed 50 horsepower, $20.00; For capacities in excess of 50 horsepower, $40.00 For any permit for alterations or repairs to any existing refrigeration plant or equipment, where the cost of the proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), $4.00; And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, $2.00 shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit; provided, however, that the total fee at said rate shall in no instance exceed the sum of Forty Dollars ($40.00) for each such refrigeration plant or its equipment included in such permit. "Section 3 -822. HOUSE MOVING FEES. The following fees shall be charged for moving of houses or other buildings or structures; For holding up, raising or moving any building or structure on the same lot, where the cost of such work does not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00), $3 . 00. For such permit, where the cost of the proposed work exceeds one hundred dollars ($100.00), an additional $1.50 for each one hundred dollars ($100.00), or fractional part thereof, in excess of one hundred J dollars ($100.00) in the cost of such proposed work. For a permit for moving any building from one lot to another, the distance of such removal not exceeding six hundred (600) feet, seven dollars $7.00 slid $ additional for each six hundred 600 feet; provided, however, that the total fee at said rate shall in no instance exceed the sum of $50. "Section 3 -823. PENALTY FOR SECURING LATE PERMIT. Should any i person, co- partnership or corporation begin work of any kind such as hereinbefore set forth, or for which a permit is required by ordinance, without having secured the necessary permit therefor either previous to or during the day of commencement of any such work, or on the next succeeding business day where such work is commenced on a Saturday or on a Sunday or a holiday, he shall, when subsequently securing such permit, be required to pay double the fees hereinbefore provided for such permit, and shall be subject to all the penal provisions of this ordinance." Wo Section 2. Section 3 -812 in chapter 3 of the Village Ordinances Is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 3 -812. PERMIT APPLICATION AND INSPECTION. An applicant for a permit shall submit a plan of the proposed installation, including a proposed layout, which describes the containers, valves, piping, fittings, safety devices and appliances to be installed. The Building Inspector shall be notifed as soon as the installation is completed, and as soon as Practicable thereafter the Building Inspector shall conduct a pressure test of the system. No system shall be placed in use until the pressure test has been made and the installation approved in writing by the Building Inspector." 3 Section 3. Section 3 -206, Section 3 -208, Section 3 -405, Section 3 -505, Section 3 -702 and Section 3 -805, and any sections or ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4.
