HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-19 05-14 CCO AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUILDING CODE 1� TO ESTABLISH SPACE REQUIREMENTS FOR DWELLINGS THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER DO ORbAIN AS FOLLOWS: I. Section 3301 of Chapter 3 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 3 -301. SPECIFICATIONS. The provisions of the Uniform Building Code, 1955 Edition, published by the Pacific Coast Building Officials Confetence, three copies of which are on file in the Village office, is hereby adopted as the official Building Code of the Village of Brooklyn Center, and is hereby incorporated in and made a part of Chapter 3 of the Village Ordinances as completely as if set out here in full. All construction in the Village of Brooklyn Center shall be according to the provisions of said Uniform Building Code and any other provisions of this section. Living units in single and two family dwellings *ball have a total floor area of not less than 768 square feet for each unit containing two bedrooms or less if such dwelling shall also have a full basement, and without a full basement shall have a total floor area of not less than 850 square feet for each unit containing two bedrooms or less. Living units in single and two family-dwellings containing three b drooms shall have a total floor area of not less than 912 square feet for each unit, and when there are four bedrooms shall have a total floor area, of not less than 1152 square feet. The minimum total floor area for living units where there are three or more living units in one building shall be set by a special permit. 2. This ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage and publication. Passed by the Village Council this 14th day of May, 1957 / Mayor rk (Seal)
