. Any person holding a license to
operate a kennel may keep any
dog, for the purpose of training,
breeding, treating, or boarding, for
a period of not to exceed seven
days without being subject to the
penalty of this ordinance; provid-
ed, however, that the total number
of dogs kept at any one time shall
not exceed by five the number
upon which the license tax paid
was computed, included those so
kept temporarily.
"Section 2. Payment of Tax.
It shall be the duty of each owner,
keeper or harborer of dogs or dog
to pay the tax imposed in Sections
la and lb hereof to the Village
Recorder for the general revenue
fund of the Village on or before
the first day of January in each
and every, year thereafter, or upon
acquiring ownership or possession
of any dog or upon establishing
residence in the village. The re-
corder shall cause a notice of the
necessity of paying such tax to
be printed in an official news-
paper once within thirty (30) days
after passage of this ordinance.
"It is further provided that the
payment of the tax due within
thirty (30) days after the passage
of this ordinance as provided
above, will constitute payment in
full of the tax for the calendar
years 1943 and 1944, providing
that said 1944 dog tag is secured
from the Village Recorder before
Feb. 1, 1944, and that thereafter
the above tax due on the lst day
of January of each and ever year
commencing the 1st day of Janu-
ary, 1945, will be a tax for the
calendar year commencing on said
day."
.-__Section 2. Effective. This ordi-
nance shall be in full force and ef-
fect from and after its passage and
publication according to law.
