special session, convening at 5:40 p.m. Present were chairperson
Stoderl, Commissioners Windsor, Brown, Eoloff, Achtelik and
Carmody. Also present were city Councilmember Dave Rosene and
Recording Secretary Geralyn Barone.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss details related to the
February 10, 1993, joint meeting of the city council and advisory
commissions. The Recording Secretary reviewed a draft of an
invitation to the meeting, a letter to advisory commission
chairpersons, and a special form for the chairpersons to follow
for their presentations.
It was suggested that the following individuals be invited to the
meeting: Representative Phil Carruthers, Representative Lyndon
Carlson, Senator Bill Luther, Senator Ember Reichgott, County
Commissioner Mike Opat, and former City Councilmembers Phil Cohen
and Jerry Pedlar.
There were some minor adjustments made to the agenda that will
allow for more questions, answers, and discussion.
A separate letter for department heads will be drafted by the
Recording Secretary, along with presentation guidelines for them.
Northwest Community Television will be asked to tape the meeting
for replay on cable television. The Recording Secretary will make
arrangements for refreshments. Department heads will be asked to
provide handouts, and folders will be distributed to participants
at the meeting.

like to solicit information from the advisory commission chairs
and use this as a basis for her remarks. The questions that would
be asked of the chairpersons include: What is most important in

is your best memory of Brooklyn Center? What do you like most
