HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004 05-10 CCM Study Session MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA STUDY SESSION CITY HALL - COUNCIL CHAMBERS MAY 10, 2004 CALL TO ORDER STUDY SESSION The Brooklyn Center City Council met in Study Session and was called to order by Mayor Myrna Kragness at 6:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Mayor Myrna Kragness, Councilmembers Kathleen Carmody, Kay Lasman, Diane Niesen, and Bob Peppe. Also present were City Manager Michael McCauley, Assistant City Manager/Director of Operations Curt Boganey, Public Works Director /City Engineer Todd Blomstrom, and Deputy City Clerk Maria Rosenbaum. CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS AND QUESTIONS Council discussed agenda items I Oe, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 35 of the City Ordinances of the City of Brooklyn Center Regarding Allowable Uses in the CC Central Commerce Overlay District; I Of, Authorizing the Sale of Certain Land in the City; 7c, Resolution Establishing Parking Restrictions on Halifax Avenue North and Eckberg Drive; l Od, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 35 of the City Ordinances of the City of Brooklyn Center Regarding the Manufacturing of Beer, Wine, and Distilled Alcoholic Beverages; I Oj, Resolution Amending 2004 Budget Authorization for Police Sergeants; and 10i, An Ordinance Relating to the Regulation of Dangerous Dogs and Potentially Dangerous Dogs in the City; Amending Chapter 1 of the Brooklyn Center City Code. Councilmember Carmody asked that the people who spoke at the Informal Open Forum regarding dangerous dogs be notified of the public hearing that will be held on June 14, 2004, if the first reading is approved. Councilmember Peppe and Councilmember Carmody expressed that they would like more information and time to discuss the matter of amending the 2004 budget authorization for Police Sergeants. MISCELLANEOUS There were no miscellaneous items discussed. 05/10/04 -1- DISCUSSION OF WORK SESSION AGENDA ITEMS AS TIME PERMITS No time was permitted.
