The Task Force met five times and held three public meetings in April, May, and June to develop a comprehensive guide plan for the creation of a Town Center. The conclusion of the Task Force, and based upon comments from the community, was that a parkway q'r character focused around a large open space was the most appropriate scheme and one that clearly provided linkage to the civic core of the City and Shingle Creek Parkway. The preferred plan design guideline systems include access - and connectivity with adjacent uses, linkages to open, 1 space, mix of uses, high quality architecture, transportation, transit, utilities, and storm water. The next steps for the Task Force are to refine the zoning 4 code and the City's Comprehensive Plan and finalize Request For Proposals/Request For Quotes for developers. The Task Force is scheduled to make a presentation on its recommendations to the City Council on September 12. Further information regarding the study process or t . objectives can be obtained from Community Development Director Brad Hoffman at (763) 569 -3305 or e-mail bhoffinan(a)ci.brooklyn- center.mn.us Visit the City's web site at www.ciiyofbrooklyncenter.org to view and download the Opportunity Site Study Area materials.
