You can vote by absentee ballot at City Hall during regular business hours, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. City Hall will also be open additional hours for absentee voting for the Primary Election on Saturday, September 11, 10 AM to 3 PM, and Monday, September 13, until 5 PM; and for the General Election on Saturday, October 30, 10 AM to 3 PM, and Monday, November 1, until 5 PM. Volunteer Opportunity — Planning Commission The Brooklyn Center Planning Commission is seeking one member to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of one of its members. The remaining term expires December 31, 2005, at which time the Commissioner is eligible for reappointment to another two -year term. To qualify for membership, you must be a Brooklyn Center resident while serving on the Commission, shall have been a resident for at least one year prior to the appointment, and represent a broad range of interest in the planning function. The general purpose of the Commission is to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council on issues related to planning, zoning, sign, and subdivision matters. The Planning Commission meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers.
