ADAPTIVE RECREATION
The adaptive recreation program is a cooperative effort of the cities of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, Golden Valley,
Maple Grove, New Hope, Plymouth, Robbinsdale and West Hennepin Community Center. Participants must pre- register. West
Hennepin Community Center is an agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in the West and
Northwest Hennepin areas. Services include information and referral, advocacy and counseling. Programs include social/recreation
clubs and education programs. An integration specialist is on staff to assist parents, professionals and individuals who are interest-
ed in participating in "non- adapted" parks and recreation programs. Call Jessica at 9884177 for information and registration

Adaptive Gymnastics — Is being offered for children ages 5 -12 at Olympic Gymnastics Academy, 14170 23rd Ave. N., Plymouth.
The class meets Mondays, 5:45 -6:30 p.m. beginning in September. The fee is $30 per month, with a ratio of 1 staff per 4 gymnasts.
Saturday Sunshine Kids — Join us once a month for gym activities, music, crafts and other fun! This social/recreation program is
for kids 5 -12 years old. We meet from 9:30 -11:30 a.m. at Central Community Center, St. Louis Park. The cost is $6 per time.
"Sunshine Kids" meets Sept. 21, Oct. 19 and Nov. 16. This is a great opportunity for parents to take a Saturday morning break.
Teen Action Sports — Come with us once a week and enjoy a variety of fun sports with your friends. We will meet in a different
location for bowling, swimming, roller skating and other fun sports. The cost is $20 plus approximately $3 per time. Call Jessica for

Adult Bowling — A great opportunity to bowl and socialize. Limit of 50 participants. We bowl on Saturdays at Doyles, 5000 W.

Floor Hockey — An inclusion program for adults 18 and over who wish to compete in a floor hockey league. Rules are modified to
provide participation for adults with and without disabilities. Games and a round robin tournament will be played. The program
