HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009 08-12 EACMEAC MEETING EARLE BROWN CENTER AUGUST 12, 2009 The meeting was called to order by Chair, Vickie Schleuning Present: Jill Berger, Vickie Schleuning, Rick Nelson, Paul Swett, Linda DeBace. Absent: Amy Phillips, Virginia Carter, Kristi Commers, George Jennrich, Bruce Johnson, Mark Reinking, Nancy Cary and Dana Mickelson. Open/Ongoing Issues: EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Continues to be a hit with employees. Reminder, all information for the employee spotlight is on the /s/ drive including questions to ask. EMPLOYEE SURVEY: Each committee member received a copy of the results of the employee survey. We discussed the results of the survey at some length. (see Survey for percentages-too many to list). Employees did show an interest in outside activities after hours such as: Bowling (the big one!), Twins or Saints game, family picnic, golf or mini-golf, bike rides, Riverboat dinner & ride. Most would prefer family friendly activities other than during the work day so families could get to know each other on a different level. Another idea was a service project replacing smoke alarms for seniors, park clean-up, etc. then a picnic, theater night. ASSIGNMENTS: Amy-Bowling (Nov.)- next time update, Paul- Wii Bowling Tournament check with employees for interest, Jill and Rick- Holiday Luncheon Talked about how to make holiday luncheon more inviting. Maybe combine Wii Bowling tournament. Review type of food and cost. Cost seems to be main issue. UPCOMING ACTIVITIES: September 16 – Golf tournament, apply by Sept. 11 OLD BUSINESS: Paul asked for update on sick time policy that was discussed last meeting. Examples from other cities were distributed. EACers need to vote and determine if we want to pursue. Seemed to be more challenges than benefits. There seemed to be confusion among employees If EAC wishes to propose, the report will take time to create and present. NEED A NEW VICE CHAIR FOR EAC AND SECRETARY: No volunteers. NEXT MEETING: SEPTEMBER 9, 2009 @ 9:00 A.M., EARLE BROWN CENTER
