Absent: Kristi Commers, Mark Reinking, Jill Berger and Nancy Cary
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Approved.
OPEN/ONGOING ISSUES:
Employee Spotlight: As Bill Koncar is retiring, we should interview him for the spotlight. Virginia will do this.
We are behind on new employee blurbs. Departments need to get new employees’ names to Vicki.
HOLIDAY LUNCHEON: Look at something different for next year, i.e. pot luck, traveling pot luck. Possibly try a survey of what employees would prefer.
SICK LEAVE: Nancy to look at it in January and Febaruary.
EAC TERMS EXPIRING: Rick, Danna & Amy have agreed to stay on. Virginia will be replaced as she will be retiring during 2010. She will work on finding a replacement at the Police Department.
SAFETY ITEMS: Not sure of progress of committee.
Good results from general safety training.
Training re: inclement weather. There are signs up in some departments but none in others re: designated areas for storms, etc.
CPR training: Every other year at Public Works. Question came up if a person could pay out of pocket and receive CPR training.
Chain Saw Safety Training: George to check with John Harlow to see if they could join Public Works for this training.
Snowblower safety: Is there a need? Possibility of 30 people from the garage.
Mower Safety: Safe Assure also does mower safety
Fire Extinguishers: There is a need for more maps of where fire extinguishers are in each bldg.
Safety Kits: Now in all city cars. Is there a need for small fire extinguishers also?
Other ideas: Dangerous animal awareness training
SUGGESTION: By George…New Employee Handbook with safety issues covered.
SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES:
Bowling night: Danna to work on a date and get flyer out
Spring Golf Tournament: George will plan this event. The fall tournament is such a success and a spring tournament has been suggested. The Lions would put on the meal. Nice prizes.
NEXT MEETING: January 13, 2010 @ 9:00 a.m.
