MEETING MINUTES
October 14, 2009
Call to Order:
Vickie Schleuning called the EAC meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. on October 14, 2009 at EBHC
Roll Call:
Present: Vickie Schleuning, Danna Mickelson, Rick Nelson, George Jennrich, Mark Reinking, Linda DeBace, Bruce Johnson, Kristi Commers, Virginia Carter, Nancy Cary
Absent: Jill Berger, Amy Phillips, Paul Swett
Approval of Minutes:
Minutes of the September meeting were approved as posted.
Agenda Items:
Employee Spotlight – People really like it. PD did not get their monthly newsletter last month for some reason & there were all sorts of complaints so evidently people do enjoy receiving
it.
Amy will do November spotlight. Spotlight persons coming up:
January-Scott Crocker (?), February-Virginia Carter (Kristi), March-Ron Warren (Bruce), April-Judith Bergeland (Paul), May-Todd Berg (Rick), June-Mike Schlosser (Linda), July-Dan Jordet
(George).
Employee Calendar – table until next month
Reports on past activities:
Golf tournament: 47 participants, good comments, inquiries about a possible spring tournament.
Happenings books: 21 sold (less than last year)
Safety meeting: Good to have every year. Some frustration among employees about not knowing where supplies are or where fire extinguishers are, etc. Will be done again with specific
items covered.
Sick leave donation policy: Winter project, Nancy draft
H1N1: E-mail came out regarding sick employees staying home and symptoms, using precautions.
Coming Activities:
Holiday Luncheon: December 11th! Lindy’s doing turkey dinner. Music from Curt’s band, Bill Koncar. Talk it up!
What’s happening in each department?
Golf course - 16” water main across course today, good year.
Community Center-Halloween Party 10/31 1-3 & Holly Party
EBC - Business has picked up.
PW - Getting ready for snow!
Fire - No waffle breakfast anymore, Open House went well
PD - Crime down somewhat. Two retirements-Clark Messenbrink & Stu Robinson. Bill Koncar to retire in December
Building & Community Stds-Replacement for Deb Hansen
Finance-Very busy with foreclosures, etc. Now short on help besides. 200 foreclosures this year and 400 vacant properties (now down to 300)
