Employee Action Committee
Meeting Minutes
January 9, 2008
I. Call to order
Vickie Schleuning called the EAC meeting to order at 9:00 am on January 9, 2008 in the case
management room at the Police Department.
II. Roll call
The following persons were present: Bruce (Doc) Miller, John Rued, Amy Phillips, Virginia Carter,
Mark Reinking, Rick Nelson, Bruce Johnson and Danna Mickelson.
Persons not present: Jill Berger, Kristi Commers, George Jennrich
III. Approval of minutes from last meeting
Minutes from the October 10, 2007 meeting were unanimously approved.
IV. Agenda Items
Open Issues
1)
a. Holiday luncheon ended up having around 60 employees. Feedback from different
departments was positive, food was good. Point for next year was checking into the
Earle Brown Terrace catering. Its within the city and close. John will give her a call.
b Virginia stated the toys for tots was a huge success.
New business
1) Member assignments: Jill Berger was elected as Treasurer. No volunteers for the
Secretary’s position. Decided to do it on a rolling volunteer basis. Danna volunteered to try
and take minutes today.
2) Worked on the guidelines defining who the Employee Action Committee is and what our
goals are and focus on what we can do.
3) Worked on the communication strategies – How to get employees more connected
throughout the City and other employees in every department.
4) John is going to draw up a document to present to the EAC for the employees use of the
exercise room at the Community Center. One which will allow reduced rates and might
motivate the employees to participate for the right reasons.
5) Discussed the purpose and scope document.
6) Talked about Financial Support for the EAC committee.
7) Talked about what do departments currently do for employee recognition?
V. Adjournment
Vickie adjourned the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
