HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005 03-15 EACM City of Brooklyn Center EAC Meeting Minutes March 15, 2005 City Hall MEMBERS PRESENT: Mary Beaudette, Matt Koegl, Tom Bublitz, Sue Remjeske, Danna Mickelson, Karen Casto Tom Leonhardt and Adam Bald [for Becky Boie]. Meeting called to order at 9:30 a.m. February EAC Meeting Minutes were approved. CEAP FOOD DRIVE: It was reported that 373 pounds of food [311 total items] were donated by City Employees. Eight departments participated and CARS won the prize for most food donated. It was reported that some employees have expressed concerns as to how the totals for donations are counted by department, particularly for departments with full time and part time employees. Committee members discussed options for counting food donations by department and agreed to look at options at the April EAC meeting. Members were encouraged to talk to their co-workers regarding how donations should be counted. DINNER CRUISE: Members discussed a possible dinner cruise for city employees for 2005. Options included cruises on the St. Croix River or Lake Minnetonka. The last dinner cruise was on the St. Croix River at Stillwater in 2003 and it was reported that employees participating in the 2003 dinner cruise had a very enjoyable time. Members agreed that Danna Mickelson will send a survey to city employees to assess the interest in doing a dinner cruise for 2005. FLOWERS/PLANTERS AT CITY HALL AND COMMUNITY CENTER: Committee members were informed that Joyce Gulseth and Bill Vetter will again be coordinating the annual planting of flowers in the planters and beds around City Hall and the Community Center. Volunteers will be needed for bed preparation and planting. Additional details will be forthcoming as the planting season approaches. EMPLOYEE CLOTHING UPDATE: Karen displayed several catalogues showing options for apparel for purchase by employees. The EAC Committee will be reviewing the types of clothing to be made available such as shirts and jackets and what insignias/logos and colors will be available. The goal is to have the EAC members to decide on a display rack of items for employee selection. EAC Members should contact Karen Casto for additional information.
