Ceap Food Drive
Patti reported receiving items from garage, finance and engineering.
She collected numbers from Denise and Tom at the meeting. She said
that Council member Kay Lasman had written a note saying it was nice
that we were doing this food drive. Patty will send out a recap of the
numbers. Mike has agreed to make cookies for the winning department.
Other Discussion
Advance Ticket Sales – Karen reported on discount movie tickets through
Regal Entertainment Group, which include: Regal Cinemas, United Artist,
and Edwards Theatres. The cost of the discount tickets were $5.50 and
$6.50 a ticket. The minimum we could order was 50 tickets. Additional
tickets sold in 25 ticket increments. The Regal Cinemas cost of a
matinee show was $6.00 and evening cost was $8.00. After a group
discussion we decided that we would check on AMC movie discounts.
Karen will be checking into discount tickets from this theatre.
Employee Cookbook – Tom reported on the cookbook fundraiser that
Savage is working on. He said that they publish the cookbook
themselves. They will pay for the cost of the materials and use the
cities equipment. The majority of the members present were interested
in this type of a fundraiser. Patty and Tara will talk to Mike regarding
the cookbook fundraiser. Tara suggested we all bring any fundraiser
type cookbooks to the next meeting.
Tom reported on other fundraising ideas. He had several good ideas
such as a chili feed, employee cook offs, root beer float stands, and a
raffle. Members present discussed these fundraiser ideas.
We will not be doing the Shape Up Challenge this year. We discussed
possibly doing another poker walk. Tara brought up addressing
ergonomic issues in the workplace. Patty volunteered to look into doing a
brown bag lunch and checking into getting more information on
ergonomics. Kelli Wick will be joining us at our next committee meeting.
