HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003 01-22 EACM EAC Meeting Notes January 22, 2003 Present: Becky Boie, Denise Hanson, Mike Schlosser, Kristi Comers, Patti Page, Jeannine Pfann Members introduced themselves. Jeannine gave a brief overview of EAC. As chairperson, she promised to start the meetings promptly at 9:30 a.m., to keep them on track, and to try to make them fun. It was suggested that we take turns bringing donuts to the meetings. Becky volunteered to bring donuts to the next meeting. The following items were distributed: List of 2003 EAC Members 2003 EAC Meeting Dates Copy of EAC By-laws from 1997 and an updated version from 1999 The committee decided to have a different person take minutes at each meeting. We will go alphabetically beginning with the February meeting. Ed Atanasoff will take minutes at that meeting. Jeannine took minutes at today’s meeting. It was also decided to continue rotating the meeting place to various city properties. The February meeting will be held at the Police Department. CEAP food drive has been increased from annually to semi-annually. EAC will sponsor drive in early February. Employees will be asked to bring spaghetti sauce. Jeannine will provide flyer to payroll and coordinate with CEAP for pick-up. City Manager has again agreed to bake cookies for the winning department. We need permission from the City Manager to join the Shape Up Challenge. Registration deadline is Jan. 31. Because Mike will not be back from vacation before then, Patti will ask Asst. City Manager for permission. We are hoping that George will agree to head the Shape Up Challenge again this year. Jeannine will check with him when he gets back from vacation on Monday, Jan. 27. If he is not interested, Denise has volunteered to take over. We need someone to attend the Kick-Off meeting on February 19. EAC members will check with their departments to see if there is any interest in doing another logo clothing sale this year. We will try to offer departments individual logos. Members will bring feedback to next EAC meeting. All of the feedback from the Holiday Party has been very positive. We will continue to have the Holiday Party catered. Barnacle Bill’s is very interested in working with us again. EAC will give City Manager the go ahead to check on a vending machine contract that would give the profits for sales to EAC. Committee would like to keep pop prices the same, or only slightly increased. Will this vending contract only cover pop machines or will it include snack machines as well? Jeannine will check with City Manager. EAC is not interested in handling the annual United Way campaign. EAC will offer the sale of discounted Happenings Books to employees this fall. Expanding EAC activities to include after work events was discussed. Kristi volunteered to check with other cities to see what kind of activities they offered and what kind of participation they have. She will report on her findings at the February meeting. The next meeting will be February 19, 2003, in the Case Management Room at the Police Department.
